The School provides an unique facility for young children to enjoy their education in an ideal environment. Our basic infrastructure includes administrative offices, a staff and teacher’s common room, well furnished class rooms, a library with books and periodicals, a computer room and science laboratory. We also provide a games room with a table tennis board and other indoor games as well as playgrounds with badminton courts, swing, a slide and more. Cultural activities such as music, drama and dance are also encouraged. The curricular and extra-curricular activities are balanced to develop a well rounded personality. We have a very high standard of health care and hygiene with modern toilet facilities separate for boys and girls and teaching staff.

Ashalata Basu Vidyalaya (originally SKBET Elementary School) is a English Medium School founded in 22nd April, 2002. It is a professionally run organisation managed by the Santosh Kumar Basu Educational Trust and a specially selected board of governors. We are dedicated to the philosophy that with education we can remove ignorance and gain knowledge. Our school motto “Knowledge through Learning” epitomizes this principle and guides us.

Special care is available in case a child falls ill, with the sick room containing all facilities necessary to provide emergency support. The school also provides a school bus with male and female attendants to ensure the safety and security of the children.

Our School is a non-commercial organisation run by Santosh Kumar Basu Educational Trust. The Trust has placed an operation management for the smooth and efficient functioning of the School.

For all practical purposes and to look after School activities including administration, educational matters, etc., a Management Committee is formed and entrusted Management Sub-Committee to take the responsibilities of different activities of the school.
